Happy Birthday, Laila!

June third, twenty sixteen

Dear Laila,
Happy birthday! This is definitely not your normal Hallmark birthday card. Okay, so I went a little crazy this year. But crazy is how I feel about our friendship! We have known each other since at least 6th grade (that was a decade ago) and have been close friends for over half that time. Though we are both growing older, spending time with you never gets old : ) I cherish all our memories and we've made some pretty unforgettable ones throughout the years. Weathering through AP English, AP Spanish, and AP Stats together senior year of high school, FaceTime dates throughout college, coffee-dates during college breaks, arts 'n crafts 'n drinks nights, just drinks nights, traveling through Europe together, getting lost in Europe together, locking ourselves out of AirBnB's in Europe together, gym nights (of which we've had over 150 in the past year!), the list goes on...
I should probably explain what this is. This is data from our text messages since June 26, 2013 (a running total of 5,312 text messages). No, not our entire text message history, unfortch, but definitely a very large chunk. I analyzed some of the things we talk about most and quantified my findings in this page.
Some gems: While you've sent more messages (about 400 more), I've sent more words (about 7,000 more). My average message to you contains 12.1 words and your average message to me contains 8.0 words. While I use more female pronouns than male pronouns in my messages to you, you use more male than female pronouns (hmm, I wonder what this explains).
I hope you enjoy this little friendship dashboard! Thank you for being an amazing friend!
